The roof is on

It is such a relief to get the roof on, not just because with Winter here it’s great to have things water tight at last, but also because it’s such a milestone for us and the builders.

Now we can see the internal walls in being gibbed up and rooms start to take shape.

I was thrilled to receive information from my sister Janet re Blackwells. When I was in NZ last February, my friend took me to Kaiapoi but it was all damaged – and our house at 25 meadow road was gone! Quite shattering. Congratulations on the rebuild and the way you managed all through this crisis. Well done. My mother used to deal at Blackwells pretty much all her life and I remember when there was a shirt factory up the top! Next time I visit I will certainly come in and say g’day. Good old Kaiapoi!!
